Brittani Houghton (2004-05) was just as successful in the classroom as she was on the field. One of the top two-way players in program history, Houghton in 2005 was voted to the ESPN The Magazine/CoSIDA Academic All-America Third Team. Houghton, who graduated in 2005 with a degree in health sciences, maintained an impressive cumulative GPA of 3.83. A first-team All-ASUN selection in 2005, the pitcher and designated player finished her senior season second in the league in batting with a .393 average, third with 45 runs scored, third with 204 strikeouts and a .189 opposing batting average, and fourth with a 1.43 earned run average. The Fort Myers, Fla., product finished her two-year Stetson career with over 300 pitching strikeouts and a 1.37 earned run average. Houghton was inducted into the Stetson Athletics Hall of Fame in 2010.
