Hall of Fame
One of the top relief pitchers in the country during his four-year Stetson career (1988-91), Tommy Hickox was inducted into the Stetson Athletics Hall of Fame in 1998. A DeLand native, Hickox made an immediate impact upon his arrival at Stetson, setting a then-school record with 14 saves on his way to second-team Freshman All-America honors. A third-team All-America selection in 1989 by Baseball America, Hickox led the Hatters in saves in each of his four seasons, setting Stetson and ASUN Conference records with 48 career saves. Despite being a reliever, Hickox was a workhorse, setting school and ASUN records for season (44) and career (151) appearances. A three-time first-team All-ASUN selection, Hickox finished his career with 23 wins, a 3.01 ERA and 48 saves. He helped lead the Hatters to three NCAA Regional appearances (1988-90) and three ASUN championships (1988-90).
