Hick spent 18 years as a physical education instructor at Stetson and head of the intramural program. That came after an extensive athletic career with the Hatters, as she lettered in basketball, field hockey, golf, soccer, tennis and badminton. As an undergraduate, Hick assisted with tennis exhibitions throughout the South. She was inducted into the Stetson Athletics Hall of Fame in 1979.
