Ronald Beal was one of the most dominant players in Stetson basketball history during his four-year career from 1968 to 1972. When he graduated, Beal left DeLand as the program's all-time leading scorer with 1,559 career points and held the school record for field goals made with 601. He also ranked second in field goals attempted (1,215), fourth in rebounds (702), fourth in free throws made (357), and third in free throws attempted (497).

A consistent offensive force throughout his career, Beal led the Hatters in scoring during his junior season with 17.3 points per game before increasing that average to 18.2 points per game as a senior. During the 1971-72 season, he also paced the team on the boards, averaging 5.7 rebounds per game while serving as the Hatters' leading scorer. His 702 career rebounds still rank among the top totals in program history. 

Beal became one of the first great scorers in Stetson basketball history and remains a member of the program's exclusive 1,000-point club. His career total of 1,559 points stood as the school record at the time of his graduation and remains among the top scoring marks ever recorded by a Hatter. In addition to his offensive accomplishments, Beal is one of only three Stetson players to surpass both 1,500 career points and 700 career rebounds, a testament to his all-around impact on the program.
