Hall of Fame
Jason Alexander only spent two seasons with the Hatters, but he left an indelible mark on the program. Alexander had a pedigree unlike most other Hatters, having prepped at famed Archbishop Malloy in his native Queens, N.Y., and Oak Hill Academy in Virginia. After two productive seasons at Rhode Island, the 5-11 Alexander transferred to Stetson and had an immediate impact. As a junior, Alexander earned 1995 ASUN Newcomer of the Year honors after averaging 18.9 points and dishing 139 assists. As a senior he was even better, averaging 19.9 points per game and setting a-then school record with 58 steals. He was a first-team All-ASUN selection in both seasons. He is one of 35 players in program history to score over 1,000 career points (1,010), and one of just three in Stetson’s Division I era to do it in only two seasons. Alexander was inducted into the Stetson Athletics Hall of Fame in 2003.
