Dalton Epting was a poised scorer for the Hatters who had a knack for drawing contact and getting to the free throw line. The Hilliard, Fla., native holds Stetson records for free throw attempts (668) and free throws made (494), a skill which helped him amass 1,548 career points. Epting is one of only eight players in program history to reach 1,500 points. His 826 career rebounds were a record upon the completion of his eligibility. Epting’s top effort came during his junior campaign when he averaged 18.7 points and 12.1 rebounds as Stetson recorded its first 20-win season (20-7). Over the course of his four seasons in DeLand, the Hatters and Epting amassed a 69-43 (.616) record. Epting was inducted into the Stetson Athletics Hall of Fame in 1982.
